Please Help Us Decide Thetford’s Future: This is your chance to make a growing and regenerating Thetford not just a great place to be, but one of the most desirable places in the country. Please help us make it happen.
Why it is important you help us again: The final proposals in the Thetford Area Action Plan will affect the lives of everyone in Thetford. It will help regenerate the town, it will decide where new homes and jobs should go, and it will set out what community facilities we need.
But we cannot write the Thetford Area Action Plan on our own. The best people to help decide exactly what should be done, where and when it should happen is you, whether you live, work, visit or have some other interest in Thetford.

By completing the questionnaire on-line, you are helping us greatly as the software analyses your answers for us! Thank you!
Please read the following pointers about the on-line questionnaire before you start:
Registration
- We have asked you to register your name and basic details. We require you to do this so as to prevent anyone abusing the system and sending multiple responses.
The Questions
- The headings for the 22 questions are listed on the left of the page. You can go direct to a particular question if you wish by clicking on the question heading, or you can work through all the questions in order using the ‘next’ or ‘previous’ buttons after each question.
- This questionnaire contains a number of multiple-choice questions which we invite you to answer. You can either answer some or all of them, and you can add extra comments if you wish.
The main document
- Attached in PDF format is the main document with supporting information in. This is 50 pages long and you don’t have to read this – enough information is given in the questionnaire.
- If you use a screen reader and would like to read the main document, the PDF version may not be suitable. Please call us on 01842 756487 and we will give you access to a HTML version.
Saving the questionnaire – to complete another time
- You can choose to save the questionnaire and then log back on and finish it another time. You can save the questionnaire by going to question 22 and pressing next. Then click save as draft.
- To complete your questionnaire another time, when you log back in, on the left hand side go to drafts which will show your saved work. Cick on ‘edit’ next to your saved work.
Submitting the questionnaire, once you have finished
- Once you have finished the questionnaire and are happy with your answers, at the end of question 22, click next and press submit.
- Once you have submitted the answers you will not be able to change them. The Growth Point Team will go through the comments you have made as we need to check that they are ok to publish. Once we publish the comments, anyone can see what you have said as your answer – your name and answer will be shown. Note that any swear words or racist remarks etc will mean that your survey is not ‘duly made’ and is therefore ‘inadmissible’ and will not be analysed and as such your opinions will not be counted. Please therefore be sensitive with the comments you make.

A paper copy of the questionnaire leaflet, again with the same questions as in the on-line survey, is also available – call us on 01842 756487 to get a copy. You can then complete the questionnaire by hand and post it to us.
Closing Date: The closing date for comments on this Thetford Area Action Plan Issues and Options Consultation is 5 August 2008. Please make sure you have completed the on-line questionnaire or posted your comments before that date. The on-line questionnaire will be closed after that date and you will not be able to submit your answers.
What happens next? We will analyse the responses and use that information to help us prepare the next stage of the Thetford Area Action Plan as well as help us decide what projects we can deliver on the ground now, prior to the final Plan being prepared. We will also set out details of how people responded to the questionnaire, to see if others in Thetford agree with your views.
